Become a Missionary at El Potrero Chico
Andrew Thomas lives at the foot of El Potrero Chico in northern Mexico. He and his wife, Gena, are Christian missionaries there and they run a not-for-profit coffee shop called El Buho/TheOwl (see www.facebook.com/ElBuhoCafe). They are looking for two people that would be willing to go there and live between October/November 2012 and April/May 2013and be short-term missionaries. Each would be expected to raise support of at least $300 a month, work 4 shifts a week, attend church on Sundays with us,love and respect the local community, be disciplined with spiritual growth, be willing to learn Spanish, obey the voice of the Lord and climb often. The shop is called the Owl for this reason found in Isaiah 43:18-21: "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise." More information on them and the ministry can be found at www.notquiteripe.com. Also, Andrew can be reached directly at andrew@notquiteripe.com.
