BONUS CLIMBING TIME: October 28-31
OVERVIEW: National Conferences are traditionally our largest gatherings. You will have a chance to get to know more Solid Rockers and do ministry together with folks from many places. The days will be filled with on-mission climbing and the evenings with dinner together, worship and teaching.
The Climbing: The New River Gorge has over 1,400 established rock climbs. The cliffs at "The New" are made up of a very hard sandstone, and range from 30 to 120 feet in height. The rock is very featured, and an abundance of crack and face routes are available. The majority of routes are 5.9 and harder, and most sport routes fall in the 5.10 - 5.12 range. A world class area not to be missed.
KEYNOTE PRESENTER: Eric HorstA student and teacher of climbing performance, Eric has coached hundreds of climbers, and his training books and concepts have spread to climbers in more than 50 countries. He is widely recognized for his innovative training techniques and equipment, and he has been a training products design consultant and Training Center editor for Nicros, Inc. since 1994. Eric is author of eight books (with many foreign translations) with worldwide sales of over 360,000 copies. His best-selling book Training For Climbing, now in its third edition, has sold more than 160,000 copies, and it is used by climbers around the world to help guide their training. Eric’s other popular texts include Maximum Climbing, The Rock Climber’s Exercise Guide, How to Climb 5.12, and the gym climbing book Learning to Climb Indoors. Launched in 2000 by Eric, TrainingForClimbing.com is the original—and most visited—climbing performance Web site. This site is owned and edited by Eric J. Hörst (pronounced “Hurst”), an internationally renowned author, researcher, climbing coach, and accomplished climber of more than 40 years.
The Camping and Conference Gathering Place: The recommended camping location will be the Ray's Campground. We have made reservations and the cost will be included in your registration fee (see below). If staying longer, the normal rate of $9 per night will apply. Cabins are available - contact the campground directly to reserve. SRCFC will provide stoves, pots, pans, utensils, etc for those traveling by air to the event.

- Evening - people arriving at Ray's
Thursday Oct 25th:
-8:00 a.m.- meet at Ray's, discuss itinerary and "gospel ticklist" competition/prizes
-Daytime- just climb (perhaps have everyone pick one partner they haven't climbed with before and then head out)
-7:00 p.m.- Catered dinner at Ray’s w/communion
-8:00 p.m. - campfire speaker- the meaning of the Gospel, being a witness, authority of Christ, God's will
Friday Oct 26th:
-7:30 a.m.- small group devotionals led by chapter coordinators (have members split up and meet with other chapters)
Daytime- trad clinics @ Junkyard, Bridge Buttress, Beauty Mtn., (Fern Cirque for more advanced climbers) or just climb
-8:00 p.m.- speaker/communion
Saturday Oct 27th:
-7:30 a.m.- devotional/prayer led by chapter coordinators
-Daytime - trad clinic @ Junkyard, Bridge Buttress, Beauty Mtn. (Maybe Fern Cirque), self rescue clinic (clinic lasting just till lunch) or just climb
-7:00 p.m.- outreach catered dinner @ AAC Campground; Eric Horst presentation, campfire at AAC
Sunday Oct 28th:
-7:00 a.m.- devotional/prayer led by chapter coordinators
-8:00 a.m.- assist Ray's wife (widow) with campground duties
-Daytime- just climb
-3:00 p.m.- conclusion and "Gospel ticklist" competition results
Monday – Wednesday Oct 29-31
- Bonus Climbing Time
- Camping at Ray’s or AAC Campground
- No set schedule, but expect impromptu devotional times
Registration Fee is $50 and will cover camping fees, catered/group meals and other expenses. Additionally, there is suggested donation of $50.00 per adult. Your donation will help to cover the program costs of SRCFC holding a National Conference. Although encouraged by all participating at any level (except for children and teens), this is a suggested donation and is not required for you to attend. Go to payment and donation options.

- Your Responsibility: You are responsible for connecting with someone to climb with (you will receive a list of participants and climbing objectives), your camping equipment and all your meals!
