Why Climbers Need the Lord!
Reason #1 – A relationship with Christ gives a person a purpose in life.
Reason #2 – Because Christ is risen from the dead, a person can have their sin forgiven.

Why should we share the gospel?
Reason #3 – Wisdom for Life

Proverbs 8:34-36 “Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the LORD. But whoever fails to find me harms himself; all who hate me love death."

Climbers, especially trad and mountaineers, have often looked at a potential fall or situation that could lead to death. Almost always, they come through it without a scratch. This can lead to a powerful feeling of invincibility. But what does God’s word say. This “wisdom” based on human experience will be harmful and will eventually lead to death. I believe this harm extends to all areas of life… work, relationships, emotional life, spiritual understanding, etc.

As Christian climbers, we need to be sharing our faith with un-reached climbers so that the may embrace God’s wisdom. And find the life and favor of the Lord there!

Route Setting for a Comp
Two days ago, I set two routes at our local climbing gym. They are average, mid 5.10 boulder routes; nothing special. They are having Junior Climbing Comp this weekend and needed help. So I took the position of a servant and helped. The owners of the gym are on my prayer list of climbers who need to receive salvation through Jesus Christ. Consider ways you can serve your climbing community!

National Conference
There has been good interest in a Solid Rock National Meeting for next fall, September 8, 9 & 10. Pray for a location someplace in the Yosemite/Tuolumne area. The purpose would be encouragement in process in being a witnessing climber, looking at the future for Solid Rock and training about evangelism and outreaches. Still, if you have interest in being there, please let me know so plans can be made.
