Information on Area Contacts
  • The Importance of Area Contacts
John Maxwell says, “Everything rises and falls on leadership.” For Solid Rock to have a meaningful impact across the climbing community, we will need hundreds of leaders. We call these leaders Area Contacts. Their role is a significant responsibility and may seem over-whelming, but when a servant-leader steps up to the plate, God promises to provide divine guidence and great success. All members of Solid Rock need to consider becoming an Area Contact for the local region.

  • Who an Area Contact is:
Area Contacts are Members who desire to go to the next level in helping climbers find Christ. Their mission is to be the point person for Solid Rock in reaching out to climbers in the climbing areas, gyms, and audiences where they may have influence. Their main responsibilities will be contacting new Solid Rock Members from their area and organizing SR Members in their area for Bible Studies, Prayer Meetings, Gatherings, and/or Outreaches. Additionally, in our efforts to give value to all climbers at our website, we would like to offer “trip beta” on the first page of the website. The idea is that Area Contacts are listed by the climbing areas they know well. When a climber seeks info (camping, best routes, time of year to visit, etc.), the website will provide a ‘fill-in the blank’ page that will be sent to the Area Contact for response.

  • Area Contacts are Committed to:
    1. Be a devoted, growing follower of Christ, connected to a local body of Christ.
    2. Be an active climber in their local area(s) and/or gym.
    3. Actively pursuing friendships with non-believing climbers and trying to stay connected to the climbing community.
    4. Have a list of non-believing climbers and be praying for them on a regular basis for them to receive Christ .
    5. At least annually, helping to organize and executing an outreach event in their area, inviting members in the area to participate.
    6. Contacting new and existing members in their area for connecting them to the mission of reaching climbers for Christ.
    7. After supporting their church, supporting Solid Rock with financial and prayer support as the Lord leads.
    8. Allow their name to posted on the website for the purpose of giving “trip beta” to any climber visiting their area.

  • Solid Rock's Commitments to Area Contacts:
We are committed to help our Area Contacts succeed. If you commit to becoming an Area Contact, Solid Rock will provide start-up and on-going training/resources to help you accomplish your responsibility.

  • “On the Road” Contacts:
Finally, if you are a climber on the road (or interested in being on the road), consider becoming an “On the Road” Contact. Through Solid Rock you will be able to raise support as a short term missionary to the climbing community. Contact us for more specific information on “On the Road” Contacts.
