Appalachian Trail Servants
Serve with us as a Appalachian Trail Chaplain! Because they will be walking, living with, and developing relationships with the other thru-hikers, Trail Chaplains are more apt to meet the mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of the hikers. Trail Chaplains spend 3-6 months hiking alongside other thru-hikers. While any qualified Christian may be a Trail Chaplain, college-aged students are the heart of this facet of AT Servants.
Vision and purpose: We realize that traveling /backpacking is more than just a physical journey but also a spiritual one. We want to see that journey people take being a journey into knowing who they are in God and living out their full purpose in Him. “It is in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for.” Ephesians 1:11 Mission The mission of FaithTravels is a three-pronged approach: 1. Faith Travels Network - To unite a global network of churches and faith Christian organizations committed to sharing Jesus to the world through travelers. 2. Faith Travelers - To inspire, challenge and equip Christians to grow in their intimacy with God, help them discover God’s purpose for their lives & share their faith with others as they travel. 3. Seeking Travelers - To bring the truth of Jesus to a searching generation as they travel the world and provide a network to support their faith journey no matter where they are.
