Jeremy Collins

Tricia and Jeremy Collins at Vedauwoo, WY

Although he is an accomplished climber (see below), his main focus is being a "climbing artist". Jeremy is the Senior Illustrator for Rock and Ice, Creative Director for Evolv shoes, and his animations and climbs are found in many climbing publications and films (see Alpinist, Return To Sender, First Ascent, Friction Addiction, Herekleia, Border Country, Aerialist). You can also see his instructional illustrations in 5 different how-to climbing books. His book "INTUIT10N" shares his work from 1998 to 2008.

Highlights of his climbing career have been:

  • Over 200 First Ascents to his credit
  • FA Border Country, Middle Cathedral, Yosemite, 1800', 5.12c With Mike Schaefer and Dana Drummond
  • FA, No Bad Weather, Patagonia, 950', 5.11+R With Renan Ozturk and Cedar Wright
  • FA, Sistine Reality, Black Canyon of the Gunnison 1250', 5.11+ With Jonny Copp
  • Cloud Tower(12a, 800'), Rainbow Wall(12b, 2000'), and Crimson Chrysalis(.8, 700'), free, in sub 13 hrs. With Ben Williams
  • First Place Team/Second Place Individual at 2009 Horseshoe Hell 24 hour climbing competition with Tommy Caldwell

He takes his climbing seriously but not himself. He states he likes his routes like his hamburger, “ground up, spicy and well done!” Jeremy's desire is that God's love shine through him, his climbing, and his artwork to those around him to empower and inspire them to pursue their own dreams.
