2011 West Coast National Conference: Sept. 20-25

2011 National Conference - West Coast

September 20-25 in the Yosemite National Park

National Conference General Information: They are traditionally our highest attended events. At them, you will get to know Solid Rockers from across the country, receive teaching from the National Director and other guest speakers on evangelism, experience worship and devotionals and hang out & climb together. There will be an outreach and/or service project as part of each conference.  Usually, the days will start with a short devotional, followed by on-mission climbing and ending with a worship and teaching time.

valleyfloor.jpgThe Climbing: Yosemite is much more than a valley with 3000-foot rock walls and incredible climbing. It is an outlet for the energies of the world’s most passionate and adventurous people. Yosemite inspires the souls of climbers and non-climbers to reach for something beyond themselves and to travel to a place, physical and mental, where they have never been before. Few climbers can resist Yosemite; nearly every climber who has the opportunity to get to Yosemite manages to make the trip. Read more at supertopo.com

anchoredman.jpgKeynote Speaker - Jason Graves: He is the author of anchoredman and currently serves as lead pastor at Daybreak Church in Carlsbad, California. Jason and his wife have been married for 15 years. He also enjoys leading climbing and backpacking adventures for guys who are interested in becoming Godly leaders. All who give a conference donation of $50 will receive a signed copy of Jason’s book.

The Camping and Meetings: SRCFC have reserved eight campsites at Upper Pines Campground which will be available on a first come basis with each being share by 4 to 6 people. Additional camping can be found at Camp 4. And free camping can be found if you are going to volunteer for the Yosemite Facelift (ask Calvin about this option if interested). Most Meetings will be at Upper Pines campground. The cost for camping is TBA and paid directly at the event.

Yosemite Facelift:Going on at the same time as our Conference is the Yosemite Facelift, a massive clean-up event spearheaded by climbers. You can learn more about the event and volunteering at yosemiteclimbing.org
