Meet Solid Rock’s National Director

Calvin Landrus, born in 1961, lives in Bend, OR. He has been married to his wife, Jan, since 1985. They have three children: Jessica, Hanna, and Jaxson. Before becoming the National Director of Solid Rock Climbers for Christ, he was in camping ministry in the 1980’s, then for twelve years he was an Associate Pastor at New Hope Church of Bend, Oregon until June of 2002. He began full-time with SRCFC in January 2003. 

He started climbing in high school in 1978 after attending a Spokane Mountaineers Climbing School and has been an active climber ever since. “I have been a weekend warrior kind of climber”, he said, and can humbly lead most 5.12’s on good days (hardest redpoint 5.12a) and has done a few big walls including the Nose on El Captain and freeing Rainbow Wall, Red Rocks (Grade V, 5.12a). More important, however, he has a real heart for bringing the Good News to climbers.
